6th Annual Tibetan Heritage Gala

Sponsored by: Center for Dzogchen Studies

The Center for Dzogchen Studies announced that it will hold its annual fundraising gala on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the Union League Café in New Haven, Connecticut.

A portion of this year’s proceeds are being directed to Gonjang Monastery, a community of 100 monks located on the outskirts of Gangtok, Sikkim. The monastery has established an on-site health clinic for monks, envisions opening it to laypeople in the surrounding countryside. The region is poor, and a trip to the main hospital (plus prescriptions) costs twice the average monthly salary. The proceeds will support staffing the clinic with a full-time nurse and doctor in order to offer free consultations, medicines, and vaccinations to the local population.

The gala and fundraising event will run from 6pm to 11pm at the Union League Cafe, 1032 Chapel St., New Haven, Connecticut and feature a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, and silent auction. Black tie is optional.

The event is open to the public.  Tickets are $125 per person.  All proceeds and donations will go to the Tibetan Heritage fund.  For more information about The Tibetan Heritage Fund, to purchase gala tickets or make a donation, please visit our website at www.dzogchenstudies.com.
