Behind-the-Scenes Collection Tours

Sponsored by: Peabody Museum of Natural History

From Anthropology to Zoology, the 13 million objects and specimens in the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History’s collections represent a world-class record of the history of Earth and its cultures.

Tours leave the Museum lobby promptly at 4 p.m. and last one hour. Led by Yale students, each tour takes in two collections areas. You will learn how collections are stored and organized and glimpse hidden treasures rarely seen by the public. Tours are limited to 12 people; please limit the number in your party to four and sign up for only one tour date to allow space for others to attend. Because many of the collections rooms are active labs or work spaces, tours are not open to children under 12. Advance registration is required at http://peabody.yale.edu/events/behind-scenes-collections-tours.
