Dave Estes and Koffee on Audubon would like to invite you to join us for the opening reception of ‘Dilate: The Art of Dave Estes’ on the 5th of July. We are excited to present the debut solo show of this Wallingford-native surrealist. His work swerves between atmospherical surrealism and solipsism illustration. Working mainly in oils, Dave’s work provides a unique insight into the modern consumer culture we all walk passively through each day.
“Something like the reaction to the sun as it bursts through a poorly covered window on a weekend morning. Just as the light arrives. Just as your pupils constrict… This is how you start your day. The rest is adjustment. The rest is dilation…”
Dave’s work has been exhibited through several galleries in CT including Freight Street Gallery and No Regrets Tattoo & Gallery. He has also featured work in the HIVE Gallery in downtown Los Angeles, ello Gallery in Portsmouth NH and APW Gallery in New York.

The show will be held at Koffee on Audubon, located at 104 Audubon Street in New Haven. Opening reception will be held on the 5th of July from 4-7 PM and the show will run through the month.
