Exact Change
Sponsored by: Arts Council of Greater New Haven
For the fifth consecutive year, the Arts Council of Greater New Haven is pleased to partner with CT Transit in presenting Exact Change, a series of live performances on five local bus routes. Performances will take place on Saturday, May 5th, and are free with CT Transit’s regular fare.
This year’s iteration of Exact Change brings repeat performances from artists Sherece M. Sellem, a mime that has appeared in music videos for artists including Faith Evans, and Verbal Slap, a Connecticut spoken word poetry collective that will bring the art of poetry and the art of performance together as one.
In addition, three new artist groups will perform this year; Salt and Pepper Gospel Choir, a local gospel mainstay, Kings Band of Harmony: Brass Shout Band, one of Connecticut’s best kept secrets, and the Elm City Dance Collective, who will certainly accomplish their mission to “reinvent the performance experience” during Saturday’s event.
All routes converge at the New Haven Green, where riders, artists and the public can mingle to the music of The Kings Band of Harmony: Brass Shout Band from approximately 1:15-2 pm.
