Lone Star

Sponsored by: Treasures from the Yale Film Archive

LONE STAR, John Sayles’s masterful murder mystery set in rural Texas, screens in 35mm as part of the Treasures from the Yale Film Archive series. In addition to directing and editing the film, which Roger Ebert said “contains so many riches it humbles ordinary movies,” Sayles also penned the Oscar-nominated screenplay. Chris Cooper, Kris Kristofferson, Elizabeth Peña, Matthew McConaughey, and Frances McDormand star. 35mm print from the Yale Film Archive.

A presentation of the Yale Film Study Center and Films at the Whitney with support from Paul L. Joskow, ’70 M.Phil., ’72 Ph.D.
