Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator

Sponsored by: Treasures from the Yale Film Archive

Join us for a screening of THE AVIATOR, Martin Scorsese’s five-time Oscar-winning look at the life of Hollywood mogul Howard Hughes. “Scorsese has crafted a luxurious entertainment that goes down like a flute of sparkling, silky champagne,” wrote Rene Rodriguez in the Miami Herald, while the Denver Post’s Lisa Kennedy remarked, “Hughes is the conduit for a titan of moviemaking to meditate gloriously on the power of film and flight to transform a nation, a culture, a world.” Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale, and John C. Reilly star, with a screenplay by John Logan. 35mm print from the Yale Film Archive.

A presentation of the Yale Film Study Center and Films at the Whitney with support from Paul L. Joskow ’70 M.Phil., ’72 Ph.D.
