NEW ENGLAND BATS IN TROUBLE - PROGRAM

On Friday, July 17, at 7:00 p.m. at the Ansonia Nature Center, Jenny
Dickson, a Connecticut DEP biologist in the Wildlife Diversity Program
who specializes in bats, will provide an overview of Connecticut
species, their current status, and the mysterious fungus being called
white-nose syndrome that has been observed effecting thousands of
hibernating bats in the Northeast and has been responsible for their
deaths.
Connecticut biologists have been investigating this mysterious killer
trying to determine how it is spread. Come find out about the latest
research and how you can help in the quest to solve the mystery of
white-nose syndrome that is posing a serious threat to the future of
our native bat species and the ecosystems that depend on them.
