Prokofiev’s Piano Sonatas: II

Nine graduate pianists, winners of a special competition, perform Prokofiev’s complete sonatas in two evenings to celebrate a new edition of the music scores, prepared by Boris Berman. This recital features the War Sonatas — No. 8 in B-flat major, Op. 84; No. 6 in A major, Op. 82; and No. 7 in B-flat major, Op. 83 — and the Sonata No. 3 in A minor, “From Old Notebooks,” Op. 28.
