SymphonyCity: The Art of Tragedy

Sponsored by: New Haven Symphony Orchestra

How does an artist translate the horrific to their work? Talk with visual artist, Jason Noushin whose recent series of works, UN(common) Sense, represents the cases of 161 indicted war criminals from the former Yugoslav Territories. Discuss how an artist translates the horrific to their work and the upcoming NHSO performance of Górecki’s Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, a piece inspired in part by words scrawled on the wall of a Gestapo prison.

Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. This event is free and reservations are recommended. Contact aisaacs@newhavensymphony.org or (203) 865-0831, ext. 10.

SymphonyCity is a cultural happy hour to feed the soul and the palette.
