The Myriad Defense of Caterpillars: Tales of Woe, Deception and Wonder
Sponsored by: Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History
In a presentation suited to a wide age range of nature lovers, David Wagner will showcase images of the wonderfully varied and deceitful ploys that caterpillars use to dupe birds and other would-be predators. Along the way he will touch on silk, spices and other stuff not often associated with insects and feature a menagerie of bizarre and beautiful eastern North American caterpillars. Dr. Wagner, Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, University of Connecticut, is also well known for his involvement in invertebrate conservation. Book signing to follow.
