The Second Movement: Music of Poulenc, Messiaen and Stravinsky

Sponsored by: The Second Movement

What is The Second Movement?
Now in our third season, we are a New Haven-based chamber music ensemble that gives engaging performances in alternative venues, provides high-quality music education to local students, and advocates for the arts by seeking to expand the audience for classical music.

What will I hear on this concert?
This performance will begin in 1960’s France with Francis Poulenc, travel through Olivier Messiaen’s time in a POW camp during World War II, and conclude in the richly saturated world of Russian folklore, courtesy of Igor Stravinsky.

Is there anything else I should know?
Beer and wine will be available for purchase, and we will host a small reception afterward to meet the artists and enjoy some fresh homemade bread. Children and families are welcome!
