“Wright Lab Transformed”

Sponsored by: Wright Lab

rom 2015 - 2017, in Yale’s Physics Department, Virginia Montgomery worked alongside the resident dark matter physicists and technicians of Wright Lab to build a body of artwork memorializing the community’s beloved, 30 year-old, 100ft long Van Der Graaff Particle Accelerator before, during, and after its needed dismantlement. It was a truly magical device and a metaphysical experience.

Concurrently, the lab was undergoing renovations. Now the renovations are complete, artwork installed, and Wright Lab is ready to celebrate!

On May 16th, please join us in the new lab and amidst art commemorating the past and future of physics at Yale. The celebration includes the unveiling of Wright Lab’s newly installed, monumental sculpture titled “The Portal.”
