Frances’ Fearless women

Sponsored by: CT Department of Energy & Environmental Protection

Who’s your favorite heroine?  Which women inspire you?  In celebration of Frances Osborne Kellogg’s 142nd birthday, the museum will be exhibiting some of the collections’ fearless women from May 11 through June 10.  Frances had a collection of female icons that probably served as inspiration throughout her life.  Learn about Massagetean Warrior Queen Tomyris, Chinese Goddess of Compassion Quan Yin, and more remarkable women.

The Osborne Homestead Museum, a facility of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, is open for free guided tours on Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  It is located at 500 Hawthorne Avenue off of Rte. 34 in Derby.  For additional information call (203) 734-2513 or email donna.kingston@ct.gov.
