Halloween Fun & Scavenger Hunt

Sponsored by: Department of Energy & Environmental Protection

Have a frightfully fun start to your Halloween weekend at the Kellogg Environmental Center and Osborne Homestead Museum on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10AM to 4PM.  Enjoy a special tour at the museum highlighting some of the gruesome tales of the artworks, such as the legend of the warrior Queen Tomyris! Find gooey treasures, herbs from the witch’s garden, ghoulish gourds, and more on the museum scavenger hunt! At 10AM visit the Kellogg Environmental Center and find out “Hoo’s for Dinner?” with an owl pellet activity and at 1:30PM hear stories about bones in the “Bag of Bones” activity.

Have a Phantas-tic time at the Osborne Homestead Museum and Kellogg Environmental Center!  All ages are welcome!  The museum tour and scavenger hunt are safe (non-scary) and appropriate for children under the age of 12.  The activities at the Center are family oriented and educational.  The Kellogg Environmental Center is open 9AM to 4:30PM, Tuesday through Saturday. The Osborne Homestead Museum is open for free guided tours on Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  They are facilities of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and are located at 500 Hawthorne Avenue off of Rte. 34 in Derby.  For additional information call (203) 734-2513 or email donna.kingston@ct.gov. donna.kingston@ct.gov.
