The Stars at Kellogg

Sponsored by: Department of Energy & Environmental Protection

Did you know Derby, Connecticut was once a hot spot for world famous performances and celebrities?  Throughout the month of September, the Osborne Homestead Museum will be featuring a special photo exhibition of celebrities who lectured and performed in Derby.  As president of the Women’s Club of Ansonia, Derby, and Shelton, Frances Osborne Kellogg brought luminaries, such as aviatrix Amelia Earhart, poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, and composer Henry Burleigh to the Naugatuck Valley area.

Visit the museum throughout the month of September and see the “stars”!  The Osborne Homestead Museum, a facility of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, is open for free guided tours on Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  It is located at 500 Hawthorne Avenue off of Rte. 34 in Derby.  For additional information call (203) 734-2513 or email donna.kingston@ct.gov.
