Details Experience “Fashion Through the Decades” at the Osborne Homestead Museum during the month of October. For those who have a passion for fashion and are looking for a treasury of history, attend a two-part fashion exhibition at the Osborne Homestead Museum and Kellogg Estate grounds. On Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM, attend a fashion display on the Kellogg Estate grounds where volunteers will be dressed in chic costumes inspired by decades of styles and trends.

“Fashion Through the Decades” is two-part historical fashion exhibition representing the decades, 1840s-1970s, of the lives of the former residents of the Osborne Homestead Museum. From October 1 – 27, part one of the exhibition will consist of a display of historical costumes and accessories that belonged to the Osborne family and their employees. Because the Osbornes owned businesses that manufactured hoop skirts, hat and corset wires, and other garment accessories, fashion was significant to their lives. Overall, this historical exhibition explores the lives of former residents and staff at the homestead and various social movements of the decades.

On Sunday, October 20th at 1:00 PM, part two of the exhibition will occur on the Kellogg Estate grounds where volunteers will be stylin’ and profilin’ in outfits inspired by the Victorian era up to the 1960s Mod style. In case of inclement weather, this fashion display will be held inside the Kellogg Environmental Center. Registration is suggested for the runway showcase on the Kellogg Estate grounds. Registration is not required for the museum exhibition. Call 203 – 734-2513 or email DEEP.Kellogg@ct.gov for more information and to register.
