Branford Land Trust’s Autumn “Treasure Hunt” at Killam’s Point

Sponsored by: Branford Land Trust and First Congregational Church

Join the Branford Land Trust and the First Congregational Church on Sunday, October 14 at 1:00 PM for an Autumn “Treasure Hunt” at Killam’s Point. This is the last of our four 2018 outdoor events co-sponsored by the two groups. It is free and open the public — all are welcome to enjoy Killam’s Point and learn about how we interact with nature.

Educator and environmentalist Jim Goggin will lead a family-oriented walk that will illustrate why Killam’s Point is so special.  Bring your cameras and binoculars for an spectacular afternoon — crisp air, ospreys feeding for their long migration, the granite bluffs against the sparkling Sound, schools of bunker fleeing a bluefish frenzy, chipmunks and squirrels harvesting acorns, and, through it all, the peace and order of an undisturbed ecological system. This is Killam’s Point in all its glory.

Space is limited.  To reserve a space, please call 203-747-4184.

Killam’s Point, a habitat for many species of bird and animals, is an ecological treasure with forested uplands, expansive salt marshes, inviting sandy beaches and spectacular granite bluffs. The Branford Land Trust and the First Congregational Church collaborate to provide public programs to promote the stunning beauty, serenity and fragility of the Point. Please join us as we celebrate being outdoors, together.

Killam’s Point is located along Shore Drive just west of the Orchard House Adult Day Care Center. Please drive SLOWLY to the end of the road to the parking area.

The Branford Land Trust is a non-profit organization, celebrating 50 years of protecting Branford’s open space and natural resources. For more information, visit
