Digital Literacy for Early Learners, “A Primer for Parents”
Sponsored by: Concepts for Adaptive Learning (CfAL)
Are you a parent of a child, age birth to 5?
DID YOU KNOW
…children are expected to enter kindergarten knowing 20 letters and 10 of their sounds?
…by the age of 3, a baby’s brain has reached almost 90% of its adult size?
Digital Literacy for Early Learners, “A Primer for Parents”, is a free 4 part workshop series offered to parents to help you engage in educating your children, age birth to 5, so your children can start kindergarten with the critical skills they’ll need to learn and succeed in school.
The workshop series covers
child development and what to expect at different stages
simple ways to encourage learning
how to make the most out of reading time with your child
how to find teachable moments in your child’s play
what to do with your child when you turn off the TV!
use of library resources and important early learner websites, with emphasis on Pre-K education
Concepts for Adaptive Learning (CfAL), in collaboration with the New Haven Free Public Library, invites you to attend this 4 workshop series, on Thursdays May 10th, May 17th , May 24th, and June 14th from 5:30pm-7:30pm.
