House Talk at the Hemingway House

Sponsored by: Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation

On Sunday, November 4th, beginning at 12:00PM, the public will have an exclusive opportunity to visit the Hemingway House in North Haven to learn about its storied past and the recent rehabilitation completed by the owner. The house is under purchase contract so this is a one-time chance to see the house.
This house, built c. 1790, has been lovingly renovated, taking care to preserve the antique architectural features including paneling, wide pine and chestnut floorboards, and five fireplaces, including a meat smoking fireplace in the attic. “This house is a great example of modern and old working together.” said Jane Montanaro, Executive Director of the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation. “The current owner has been a careful steward of the property. This is a great opportunity for the public to visit before the house gets new owners.”
The Trust, a non-profit whose mission in part is to promote the value of preserving historic places, is co-sponsoring the event as part of its “House Talks” held around the state. The event is co-sponsored by Seabury-Hill Realtors, the house’s owner, and The North Haven Historical Society, who will be presenting.
The Hemingway House is located at 5 Quinnipiac Avenue in North Haven. Parking is available at the site.  To help the Trust prepare for the event, attendees are requested to RSVP by visiting www.cttrust.org or calling 203-562-6312.
