Shir Magic 2018 with Jacob “Spike” Kraus
Sponsored by: Temple Emanuel of Greater New Haven
On Saturday, November 3 at 7:00, Temple Emanuel presents the 3rd annual musical celebration honoring the memory of our late Rabbi Emeritus, Jerry Brieger, z”l. Jacob “Spike” Kraus will headline the concert, accompanied by the Temple Emanuel Band.
Jacob “Spike” Kraus believes in the power of music as a community builder. He tours the country singing with multi-generational communities and using Jewish music as a tool to educate and engage the next generation of Jews. Spike has three albums: “The King’s Beanie EP,” “Shake Off The Dust,” and his second studio album, “Cornerstones,” released in May 2017. His music has been included in the cantorial curriculum of Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion, and is featured on Jewish Rock Radio & PJ Library. Find out more about Spike and his music at www.jacobspikekraus.com.

The band, directed by Laurel Shader, plays at Kabbalat Shabbat services every few months and at various special events and celebrations. The band’s repertoire includes traditional melodies and contemporary tunes.
Tickets, which can be purchased on the TE website or at the door, are $18 in advance for adults ($20 at the door), $10 for teens and kids 12 and under are free.
