Amelia Earhart

Sponsored by: Connecticut Works Career Coach

The Seymour Library is pleased to again host the historian Mark Albertson. Mr. Albertson will be lecturing on the life of aviatrix Amelia Earhart.
Amelia Earhart is known today for her disappearance during her last flight in 1937 more than her other accomplishments. But during her life time she was known as a best selling author, faculty member of Perdue University, her work toward advancement of women’s rights and a risk taking flyer. She was the first woman to cross the Atlantic Ocean and the first person ever to fly solo from Hawaii to the U.S. Mainland.
Mr. Albertson will recount her life accomplishments, disappearance and current theories of her end.
