Details | A free summer workshop for Elementary Educators Tuesday, June 28 and Wednesday, June 29, 2022 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Peabody Museum Community Education Center Limited to 20 teachers Continental breakfast and lunch provided The Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History is pleased to announce a two-day professional development workshop that combines art and science to help teachers re-engage their senses as they learn to observe and sketch the natural world around them. These methods of practiced observation are skills that can be passed along to your students. Meeting in-person at the Peabody Museum’s Community Education Center at Yale‘s West Campus, participants will approach field sketching and nature journaling in a slow-paced, relaxed, and meditative way. Re-awakening your observational skills will lead to new perspectives on nature and the enjoyment of exploring and discovering new things. Simple explanations and demonstrations about how to start out with field sketching and nature journaling will help you present these valuable skills to your students. |
