Details Would you please announcement this event . I am Nancy Eberg, 15 Lynette Drive, North Haven, CT, (203)390‑5111. Thank you for your assistance. It is as follows:

Commemmoration of the 77th Anniversary of the Atomic bombing of Nagasaki

On Tuesday, 7/9, a silent vigil will be held at 10:45 AM at the Amistad statue in front of New Haven City Hall, 165 Church St., New Haven,CT. Poems, community readings, and a declaration from Nagasaki’s’s mayor wilk be presented. It is especially relevant now because Russia is using their possession of nuclear weapons in a menacing manner in relation to the US’s meddling in Ukraine. In response, instead of attempting to force negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, we are setting aside $1.7 trillion for the development of new nuclear weapons, and spending $800 billion in new military allocations in 2023, half of the US’s discretionary spending. Any questions, or to particpate in the readings call Henry @ (203)389‑9547 or e‑mail grnhpeacecouncil@gmail.com.The Greater New Haven Peace Council is sponsoring the event.
