HSQ CHAMBER SERIES II: 21ST CENTURY TONALITY

Sat Dec 10 , 7:30 – 9:30 pm

Hosted by Music Haven
Details The HSQ’s December Concert features the diverse and appealing music of four living composers. In Strum, Jessie Montgomery plays with plucking, bowing, and strumming effects to capture the energy of American folk music in the context of a classical romp. Dr. Adolphos Hailstork’s Quartet no. 1 continues the blend of styles, bringing African American traditional music together with the sound of the string quartet. Finally, Colin Jacobsen’s arrangement of Ascending Bird by Siamak Aghaei brings the sonorities of Iran and the Silk Road to our concert stage.
