Details Join the Cheshire Art League Wednesday March 1st for a demonstration of plein-air techniques by guest artist, Rick Daskam. 
Rick Daskam studied art at Paier College of Art from 1978 – 1982. His paintings have appeared in Art Galleries and Juried Exhibitions throughout Connecticut and New York area. In 1998 he followed his passion of painting plein-air and spent his time painting landscapes and farms in the local area surrounding his home.
In 2002 Rick first visited Monhegan Island Maine and fell in love with its rugged beauty. Returning every year for a week of sun up to sun down painting”, the artist has produced some of his most memorable works. In 2019 he was honored to be chosen as Artist of the Year with a solo show at the Island Inn.
In 2004 he began entering Juried Art Exhibitions and Museum shows. Preferring to express his passion in Oil, Mr. Daskam’s works have garnered him numerous awards from The Butler Museum of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, The Hudson Valley Art Association, The American Artists Professional League, the Lyme Art Association and the Salmagundi Club in NYC
He taught oil painting/still-life classes in 2008, for SCAN, (Society of Creative Arts Newtown). Several years later, teaching at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists and lastly at the Rowayton Art Center. Currently he is co-President of the Hudson Valley Art Association.
