2023 City of New Haven Memorial Day Ceremony: Long Wharf

Details NEW HAVEN – Commemorating the men and women who died while in military service, the City of New Haven Memorial Day ceremonies will be on Sunday, May 28, 2023. Elm City and regional residents are invited to attend the two traditional wreath-laying ceremonies and programs.

At 1:00 p.m., there will be a wreath laying ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park on Long Wharf Drive. Britt Conroy, Coordinator of Veteran, Military and Adult Learner Support Services at Southern Connecticut State University will be the principal speaker.

At 3:00 p.m., there will be a second wreath laying ceremony at the World War Memorial Flagpole on the New Haven Green. Lt. Col. Thomas J. Saadi, former Commissioner of Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs will be the principal speaker. New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker will offer remarks.
