Details The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 21st Annual Regional Health Care and Life Sciences Awards, presented by Yale New Haven Hospital and Elm City Bioscience Center, on Wednesday, July 12th, from 3:30pm to 6pm at Anthony’s Ocean View. The event features an awards program that will recognize individuals and organizations making strides to advance health care in the regional business community. Attendees will also hear from a distinguished panel of health care and life sciences leaders. The event includes a lively networking reception, delicious food and drinks, live music, and a great view of the Long Island Sound!

During the program, several distinguished honorees will also be recognized with awards. Marcella Nunez-Smith, Inaugural Associate Dean for Health Equity Research at Yale School of Medicine, will receive the Industry Super Star” Award. Michael Taylor, CEO of Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center, will receive the Industry Visionary” Award. Jennifer Bradley, Executive Director, Scientific Operations at Alexion AstraZeneca, will receive the Bioscience Innovator” Award. 

The Center for Communications Disorders at Southern Connecticut State University will receive the Clinical Program” Award. The Alzheimer’s Association – Connecticut Chapter will receive the Well-Being/Wellness” Award. Trevi Therapeutics will receive the Biosciences Company” Award.

The panel will focus on the topic Why Bioscience and Health Care Companies are Thriving in Greater New Haven… and How they are Handling the Challenges of an Uncertain Economy.” Panelists will delve into the reasons behind the region’s success in these sectors and shed light on how companies are effectively navigating the challenges posed by an uncertain economy. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the strategies, innovations, and collaborative efforts driving growth and resilience in this industry. The panel will be moderated by Lou Gianquinto, Jr., President & General Manager of Anthem BCBS of CT at Anthem, Inc. Panelists include Rebecca Frey, CEO of Siduma Therapeutics, Rob Bettigole, Managing Partner of Elm Street Ventures, Michael Taylor, CEO of Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center, and Dorinda Manner, Vice President of Talent Acquisition & Development for Yale New Haven Health.
