Details Network with CMWP Foundation, Inc. and local businesses for a quarterly business networking meetup with Guest speaker, David J. Hopkins, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Urban League of Greater Hartford!!

The Urban League of Greater Hartford, a community-based, not-profit 501(c)3. Established in 1964 as the National Urban League’s 66th affiliate, its mission is to reduce the economic disparities in Greater Hartford’s communities through programs and services in the areas of youth development, adult education, workforce development and training, housing and personal financial management, health and wellness, and social justice.

Hopkins joined the 58-year-old agency in January 2019, after serving as Chief Executive Officer of Pittsburgh-based Primary Care Health Services, Inc., a $12 Million network of nine Federally Qualified Health Centers.

Passionate about culture, systems, and resources aligning to achieve operating excellence, he previously ran an independent strategic management consultancy, and was a Senior Vice President at PNC Bank in Public Finance and Community Development Banking.

Hopkins earned a BA in Economics with a minor in Sociology from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC, an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business in Information Management Systems, Strategies and Economics, and a certificate in Non-profit Leadership from Boston College. He is currently a candidate for a Ph.D. in Community Engagement, Advocacy and Policy from Point Park University in Pittsburgh.

He serves on the Board of the MetroHartford Alliance, the Root Center for Advanced Recovery, and the University of Connecticut’s Hartford Community Advisory Council. The Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at Guilford College and President of the Josh Gibson Foundation Board of Directors, Hopkins is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He recently was honored with a Hartford Business Journal 2021 C‑Suite Award” that recognizes top executives who have made significant contributions to their companies.

Hopkins and his wife, DeVona, have four children.

This event will provide opportunities for Black and minority business owners to connect with other businesses, discuss important topics, partner, and collaborate with their business peers.
