Artist Critique by Artist Jay Babina

Wed Oct 4, 6:30 – 8:15 pm

Hosted by Cheshire Art League
Details Jay’s interest in art started long before his 1966 graduation from Silvermine College of Art and his studies in Graphic Design at University of Bridgeport (BFA). Having spent the greater part of his adult life working for advertising agencies in graphic design as an illustrator and graphic designer, Jay now continues to work in this field but has added painting to his skill set.
Besides being employed by other agencies, Jay has also owned his own advertising agency. It operated long before computer programs were used to develop art and where the profession required primarily drawing and illustrating by hand. These skills led Jay along his travels with painting, and now, he concentrates on subjects that peak his personal interests.
Please bring a piece of artwork to the meeting and Jay will be happy to analyze it and talk about its most positive attributes. If he can make a suggestion for a possible enhancement, he will do that. But be assured, Jay always looks at the positivity of all pieces. So no-one need feel that they will be criticized in any way with any critique that Jay makes about their artwork. He also asks people to respond to the pieces and get the entire group engaged in the piece. It will be a fun and enjoyable event. Jay thanks all for the privilege of reviewing their work.
