2024 Regional Workforce Summit

Details The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce will host its first Regional Workforce Summit on Thursday, February 15th from 3pm to 6pm. The event takes place at CT State – Gateway Campus (formerly Gateway Community College) in the Curran Community Center located at 20 Church Street, New Haven, CT 06510. The summit will focus on strategies to retain and attract talent to the Greater New Haven region. The Chamber is partnering with local colleges and universities to engage students and businesses for networking opportunities. Partners include Albertus Magnus College, CT State – Gateway Campus, Quinnipiac University, Southern Connecticut State University, University of New Haven, Yale University, New Haven Promise, and Workforce Alliance. 

The Summit will feature presentations on Talent as New Haven’s Competitive Advantage: Why People Are Staying in Greater New Haven” and Skills for Tomorrow’s Careers,” including digital/marketing, artificial intelligence, health science, and manufacturing. 

Career pathway workshops will also be available. These seminars are designed to address the skills, experiences, and opportunities pertinent to specific fields and industries with the primary goal of assisting students in making informed decisions about their career development. These seminars include LinkedIn and Resume Strategies, and industry-specific seminars in the fields of healthcare and bioscience, manufacturing, and nonprofit.

Companies will also showcase internship opportunities and high-demand roles within their organizations, facilitated through exhibitor booths and networking opportunities. Exhibitors include Access Health CT, Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES), BYK-USA Inc., City of New Haven, Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center, Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, Marrakech, Inc., Mary Wade, Regional Water Authority, and Workforce Alliance.
