Details | Noah Rott — piano & synthesizers; Alfredo Colon — alto saxophone & EWI; Mathias Jensen — upright bass; Kobi Abcede — drums Noah Rott’s latest endeavor, his innovative electric quartet, fuses acoustic elements and electronic sounds. Rott’s compositions intricately weave together minimalist melodies with complex and multilayered grooves, leaving ample room for the groups improvisational prowess. The project features some of New York’s most unique musical minds, such as Alfredo Colon on saxophone, electric wind instrument, and effects; Mathias Jensen on upright bass; and Kobi Abcede on drums. The band is projected to release their first album in this formation in early 2025. Noah Rott (b. 1991) is a Brooklyn-based pianist and electronic artist who fuses modern jazz with electronic soundscapes. Originally hailing from Germany, Noah Rott migrated to New York in 2017, where he swiftly carved out a niche for himself as a dynamic force within the city’s jazz scene. As part of a new generation of jazz innovators, Noah Rott’s versatile use of analog synthesizers and sound effects paired with his picturesque approach to the acoustic piano have garnered attention and acclaim. In 2017 Noah Rott was awarded the prestigious Fulbright scholarship. His debut album “Rewind” was released in 2021. Furthermore, he has appeared on fourteen albums as a co-leader or sideman and has performed internationally in Asia, Europe, Central, and North America. |
