| Details | We are thrilled to announce that Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Programs will convene our first annual Education Summit on Saturday, March 23, 2024! In light of the recent Supreme Court decision on affirmative action and the implications for college access — particularly for black and brown students — Higher Heights’ work is more critical than ever. Hosted by our Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Chaka Felder-McEntire, this event will bring together congressional, social justice and educational leaders to discuss the advancement of educational equity in the state of Connecticut through informative and interactive panel discussions. The event will culminate with a Call To Action — a collective commitment to prioritize the new challenges and potential barriers to college access, ensuring Connecticut’s students are well-prepared to navigate changes in admissions criteria and secure their spots in higher education institutions.
