Art In The Hall is pleased to present the work of Sheldon Krevit. Sheldon is a native of New Haven, a graduate of The Philadelphia College of Art (UArts) and The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he graduated with distinction and was awarded the E.V. Ashton Prize for painting. His work has been included in numerous curated exhibitions with such artists as Robert Motherwell, Robert Natkin, Willem de Kooning, William Bailey, Barkley Hendricks, Robert Longo, and Cindy Sherman. He’s had solo exhibitions in SoHo, Philadelphia, PA, Santa Fe, NM, and CT. His work has received favorable mention in major publications, including The N.Y. Times, The New Haven Register, New Haven Arts, The New Haven Independent, Arts Magazine, The Santa Fean Magazine, and THE Magazine, and is represented in public, private, and corporate collections. He’s also taught drawing to hundreds of students, of all ages, both institutionally, and privately. In March of 1998, he received a Commendation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges for his teaching. 


In addition to New Haven, he’s lived in Lower Manhattan, Philadelphia, PA, and Santa Fe, NM. He currently resides in Hamden, CT.

I’m interested in essence, in that which is timeless, in the organic continuum that is the cosmos. The act of creating, for me, is a kind of meditation involving my attention to the present, to the act of painting or drawing.”
