Details | Paper can be a lightweight yet strong and compatible repair material used to stabilize worn or damaged books. Following a variation on a technique developed in the 1990s by Don Etherington, students will learn the many ways Japanese tissue can be used to repair leather books. We will be mending torn pages, reinforcing end sheets at the fold, re-attaching pages and covers, repairing book spines with compatible paper, and toning repairs to color match original material. No experience is necessary, all tools and materials will be provided. |
