| Details | Wallingford resident Emily Franke always had a passion for taking care of others, and a dream of making a difference in the world. When she lost her grandmother in 2021, she turned her grief into a message of hope for others, creating her book, “The Ladybug Who Lived on a Four Leaf Clover.” The New Haven Museum will host Franke for a reading of her book at the Pardee-Morris House on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 2 p.m. Visitors are welcome to bring chairs or blankets, and to tour the historic house from 12 – 4 p.m. Free registration here. For weather updates check FB/IG, http://newhavenmuseum.org, or call 203 – 562-4183. “My grandmother, Sheila, was the sunshine and joy in my life,” Franke says. “When she passed, I knew this was my moment to help inspire those who needed a reminder of hope after loss.” “The Ladybug Who Lived on a Four Leaf Clover” shares a message that our loved ones are always with us, according to Franke. In the story, a girl named Emily loses her grandmother, but realizes she comes back to visit her as a magical ladybug. Sheila, the ladybug, reminds Emily that her grandmother is always with her. In addition to her book reading, Franke will share her journey as a first-time author. She will discuss her source of inspiration, lead a fun Q&A with visitors, and share the steps she took to become published and marketing tips she’s learned along the way.
