Details Join us for this 10-session studio sacred art course in relief composition with George Nista as we explore the four types of relief discovered in the Florentine Renaissance. Participants will learn the various methods of working from old master compositions as we work from the painted masterpieces and transpose them into the various types of relief, including high, medium, and low relief. Sessions will include how relief sculpture remains a long-standing in Catholic art form for its powerful ability to illustrate the sacred in both liturgical and devotional art forms. Ranging from bronze doors to tabernacle doors, from reliquaries to stations of the cross, lectures, discussions, and demonstrations will include methods, themes, and how they can be used today.
