Details | OUR NIXON (Penny Lane, 2013, DCP, 84 mins) Largely created from Super 8 home movies shot by Nixon White House insiders H.R. Haldeman, John Ehrlichman, and Dwight Chapin, Lane’s documentary is “a uniquely dynamic time capsule” (David Hiltbrand) presented with “spirit, humor, and a bountiful sense of irony” (Dorothy Rabinowitz). “The Nixon Years: American Politics in the Early 1970s” is a series of documentary and fiction films focusing on that tumultuous time. This screening is presented by the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library and the Yale Film Archive to mark the 50th anniversary of Nixon’s resignation. |
