| Details | Sunday, October 6, 2024 8:15AM Registration Begins 9AM Start — Rain or Shine 5K Run or 1‑Mile Fun Walk Roger Sherman Baldwin Park 100 Arch Street Greenwich, CT To kick off Domestic Violence Prevention and Awareness month, YWCA Greenwich is hosting the 2024 Walk the Walk & 5K Run Against Domestic Violence. This annual event supports The Harmony Project to raise funds and awareness for free domestic and sexual violence services at YWCA Greenwich, including counseling, crisis intervention, emergency shelter, criminal court advocacy, and a 24/7 hotline. This event is pet and stroller friendly! BENEFICIARY Harmony Project of YWCA Greenwich is committed to the physical safety and emotional well-being of adults and children who are survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. We provide client-focused services that are inclusive, healing, and empowering. Last year, The Harmony Project provided direct services to 674 victims, the majority of whom were women and children. The Harmony Project fielded 3,641 calls to it 24/7 hotline and worked closely with Greenwich Police on 139 family violence incidents. Your participation in today’s event enables YWCA Greenwich to continue to serve the most vulnerable in our community and helps our friends, neighbors and family members stay safe.
