Details | The American dancer and choreographer Trajal Harrell, B.A. 1990, is joined in conversation by Mark D. Mitchell, the Holcombe T. Green Curator of American Paintings and Sculpture, Yale University Art Gallery, and Jennifer Harrison Newman, M.F.A. 2011, Associate Artistic Director, Yale Schwarzman Center, to discuss histories of physical gesture, body transformation, and “fictional archiving.” Offered in conjunction with Harrell’s performance to the jazz piano recording The Köln Concert, as well as with the Gallery’s exhibition The Dance of Life: Figure and Imagination in American Art, 1876 – 1917.
