Details | Sophie Pinkham, Journalist and Critic, Professor of Practice at Cornell University Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has prompted a reconsideration of Russia’s cultural legacy. The invasion, along with years of mounting political repression, has also caused an exodus of major cultural figures from Russia. This lecture will discuss the changes in perceptions of Russian cultural heritage and contemporary culture after the 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and explore the role of critics and journalists in covering Russian culture in wartime.
