Start the season off right by attending Hamden Art League’s first meeting of the year on September 9, 2025 at 7 PM. Rosemary Cotnoir will present “Nature Abstracted and Embellished”. She is an abstract landscape painter based in Westbrook, CT and will give a presentation and demonstrate some of her methods and techniques. She says, “My work explores patterns using aerial views of landscapes, such as coastlines, marshes, forests and rivers. I use symmetrical, asymmetrical, and organic shapes that I see around me. I am influenced by indigenous people’s mark making, Japanese wood block prints and the work of Gustav Klimt.”. It will be held in the Social Hall of the Hamden Senior Center, 2901 Dixwell Avenue, behind the Miller Library.
