Schoedsack, 1933, 35mm, 100 mins) New print! “Ladies and gentlemen, look at Kong, the Eighth Wonder of the World!” This pre-Code stop-motion sensation has thrilled for generations, taking us from the tropics to the top of the Empire State Building with a beauty (Fay Wray) and Hollywood’s favorite beast. Upon its release, critics praised KING KONG as “so ingenious, and on such a stupendous scale” (Len G. Shaw) with “a thrill in every foot of celluloid” (H.H. Niemeyer).
