All ethnicities and body types encouraged. We welcome performers of all experience levels — from first-time auditioners to seasoned theatre artists. Strong singers, actors, and character performers encouraged to audition. Musicians are highly valued; performers who play guitar, bass, drums, or keys are encouraged to demonstrate their playing ability at auditions, though it is not required. This production will rehearse with structure, care, and artistic integrity — offering a rewarding experience for youth and adults alike. ABOUT THE SHOW Based on the hit film, School of Rock follows struggling musician Dewey Finn as he transforms a class of straight‑A students into a full-throttle rock band. Filled with humor, heart, and electrifying music, this musical celebrates creativity, individuality, and the power of music. PRINCIPAL & FEATURED ROLES ADULT ROLES DEWEY FINN — Male-presenting, Rock Tenor, charismatic, comedic, energetic lead; strong vocals & physical comedy required. ROSALEE MULLINS — Female-presenting, Mezzo with strong belt, uptight exterior with emotional depth; powerful ballad voice. NED SCHNEEBLY — Male-presenting, Tenor/Baritenor, awkward but lovable; comedic timing essential. PATTY DiMARCO — Female-presenting, Mezzo/Soprano; sharp, controlling, strong stage presence. ADULT ENSEMBLE — Various parents, teachers, administrators; strong character actors; mix of vocal ranges. YOUTH ROLES (Ages 9 – 17) ZACK — Lead Guitar • Confident yet emotionally layered (guitar playing preferred). KATIE — Bass • Calm, cool presence (bass experience preferred). LAWRENCE — Keyboard • Shy but talented (keyboard playing preferred). FREDDY — Drums • Rebellious energy (drum experience preferred). SUMMER — Band Manager • Bossy, driven, comedic timing. TOMIKA — Vocalist • Powerful soul/pop voice; big heart with vulnerability. SHONELLE & MARCY — Vocalists • Strong singing and ensemble presence. BILLY — Stylist • Big personality; comedic flair. MASON — Tech Savvy Genius • Great comedic delivery. STUDENT ENSEMBLE — Strong singers/actors; personality essential. Some may understudy band roles. Note: Instrument ability is a plus, not a barrier. Students without musical experience are still strongly encouraged to audition.
