| Details | Explore the Charm of Yesteryear at the Shore Line Trolley Museum Step back in time and experience the history of electric rail transportation at the Shore Line Trolley Museum. Whether you spend an hour or the entire day, your admission includes unlimited trolley rides and access to our historic campus. Tickets may be at the door and are valid for the full day. Admission Adults: $15 Seniors (62+): $14 Children: $10 Children under 2: Free Please note: Special events may have separate pricing. Hours Open Wednesday through Sunday, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM, through August 30 (closed on July 4th) Trolleys depart every hour. Ride along the oldest continuously operating suburban street railway in the United States, opened on July 31, 1900, connecting New Haven with the Connecticut shoreline. The Experience Visitors ride aboard authentic antique trolley cars from cities such as New Haven, New Orleans, Brooklyn, and Johnstown, PA. Equipment in service varies by day and weather conditions. As a working museum, guests may also observe restoration projects and ongoing preservation work throughout the property. America 250 – Innovation & Ingenuity In honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary, the museum is highlighting the theme “Innovation & Ingenuity.” Electric railways transformed American cities and connected communities in new and remarkable ways.
