No Kings New Haven - Stand Up CT

Sat Mar 28 , 3 – 5:30 pm

Hosted by Greater Westville Indivisible
Details

The No Kings New Haven — Stand up Connecticut Rally is a coordinated mobilization defending democratic values and rejecting authoritarianism. The event is one of hundreds happening across the country, building on the momentum of last October’s actions, when millions participated in more than 2,700 communities.

The New Haven rally is organized by: ACLU CT, CT for All, Greater Westville Indivisible, New Haven Federation of Teachers, and New Haven Rising.

This year’s focus is deepening community engagement and strengthening connections among labor, students, immigrant defense networks, and faith communities. Our plan is to help attendees make real connections that lead to continued action beyond the day of the event,” said Nan Becker, founder of Greater Westville Indivisible. This country does not belong to kings, dictators, or tyrants. It belongs to We the People – the people who care, who show up, and who fight for our dignity, a life we can afford, and real opportunity. No single group can counter authoritarian threats alone – but together, we are unstoppable.”

Confirmed Speakers:

• Leslie Blatteau, New Haven Federation of Teachers

• Justin Elicker, Mayor of New Haven

• William Tong, Connecticut Attorney General

• Reverend Scott Marks, New Haven Rising
