| Details | Join us at the Leslie P. and George H. Hume American Furniture Study Center at the Collection Studies Center, Yale West Campus, for a presentation and live demonstration by Bob Van Dyke, director of the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking in Manchester, Connecticut, and a contributing editor to Fine Woodworking magazine. Van Dyke leads participants in close looking at American Federal-era furniture from the Yale University Art Gallery’s collection, and particularly at the various inlaid wood decoration that so characterizes high-style objects of this period. A live demonstration of sand-shading techniques follows. Generously sponsored by the Martin A. Ryerson Lectureship Fund. Registration required; space is limited. Registered visitors will receive a confirmation email including directions to the site, where there is ample free parking. Unregistered visitors cannot be accommodated. |
