MAY DAY x 4 (Brian Meacham, 2026, DCP, 35 mins)
Sampada Aranke and Brian Meacham in person! New print! Urgent, uncompromising, and essential, Alk’s acclaimed documentary captures history in the act, bringing us Hampton’s extraordinary charisma and resolve along with the aftermath of the Chicago police raid that ended his life. The film is paired with the premiere of a new short that draws on archival footage from four separate productions that documented protests in early May, 1970, creating a kaleidoscopic portrait of the response to the New Haven Black Panther trials. 35mm print made with thanks to the UCLA Film & Television Archive. 35mm print and DCP from the Yale Film Archive.
