Details | Spend an hour, spend the day. The museum is open to visitors for trolley rides and tours. For the safety of our visitors and staff, we’re still limiting our trolley seating capacity so get your tickets online to reserve your spot. Your tickets are good all day, so relax and enjoy! Tickets are $10/adult, $8/folks 62+, $7/children and kids under 2 ride free! Please note that special events may be priced differently. Social distancing and face coverings for everyone over the age of 2 is required. Our hours are 11AM-3PM with trolley cars leaving every hour. Our volunteer trolley operators will take you on a journey back in time on the oldest suburban street railway in the U.S.A. You’ll ride on the remaining 1.5 miles of the Connecticut Company trolley line, a National Historic District. Opening on July 31, 1900, this line connected the city of New Haven with the Connecticut shore line. Your visit includes a ride on an authentic antique trolley car. Step into a portrait of old New Haven on a yellow Connecticut Company trolley. Or maybe today is the day you’ll visit New Orleans on a 1923 New Orleans Public Transit trolley. Depending on weather, a semi-open 1904 Brooklyn Rapid Transit trolley may be your chariot. We also regularly operate trolley cars from New Orleans and Johnstown PA. Get a glimpse of history when you view our meticulously volunteer-restored display cars. You might even see some volunteers working on overhead wire, signals or even track! Speaking of which, we are always looking for volunteers and there are many opportunities available. Ask your tour guide or ticket agent for more information. Perhaps a membership is for you. If you visit multiple times a year, check out the advantages of an annual member subscription. Don’t leave without taking away a memento from your visit. Stop at our museum store and look around. |
