Details | Learn how to evaluate and debunk diet myths, set sustainable goals, truly understand what the nutrition label says, and control your environment. THIS CLASS WILL NOT TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT TO EAT. Rather, it will teach you about recommended nutritional distribution ranges, the basics of nutrition, tips to break away from disordered eating, and how to maintain sustainable, healthy eating habits so you can stop crash dieting and repair your relationship with food. About the Instructor: Rory Martorana is a Reference & Adult Services Librarian at our Ives branch as well as the Staff Wellness Coordinator for the New Haven Free Public Library system, where her focus is Community Health. In addition to her role as an Adult Services Librarian, Rory is an ACE-Certified Personal Trainer and a NASM-Certified Nutrition Coach. She is currently in the process of earning her Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification and a Consumer Health Information specialization from the National Library of Medicine. Rory is passionate about fitness, nutrition, and health equity, which she believes begins with health literacy skills. |
