Maple Sugaring Open House

Sat Mar 19 , 10 am – 2 pm

Hosted by Friends of Brooksvale Park Inc.
Details Winter is waning and Spring is in the air. Join us at the park to experience a traditional New England craft that is so, so sweet, Maple Sugaring! Learn how intrepid native Americans, farmers, homesteaders and everyday folk nowadays turn the sap from Sugar Maple trees into Maple syrup and other delicious products. Members of The Friends of Brooksvale Park and park staff will be at various learning stations throughout the park to answer your questions and show you how it’s done. The Friends group has supported this program financially and physically, partnering with the Town of Hamden for almost 20 years now. It’s an experience not to be missed. A limited supply of Brooksvale’s own Maple Syrup will be available that day. FOB uses 100% of the donations to support this and other educational programming at the park throughout the year. This program is almost entirely out of doors and the grounds can be muddy and the temps anywhere from brrrr…to warm and sunny so please dress accordingly.
